Yerevan. 5th of December. INTERFAX-AVN – Armenia and Russia initialed three agreements within the framework of a defense loan for the supply of Russian weapons, First Deputy Defense Minister Artak Zakaryan said.
“Three agreements have been initialed, the cost of which exceeds $ 100 million.”All new military products will be supplied to Armenia, including regional armament, which will increase our security and strengthen the capabilities of our armed forces,”- Zakaryan said in the Armenian parliament on Tuesday during the discussion of the issue of ratification of the loan agreement with the Russian Federation.
Within the Russian state export credit the supply of military products of Russian production will be financed to Armenia.
The loan is issued for 15 years (maturity from 2023 to 2037) at 3% per annum. The loan will be used in 2018-2022, the document says.
Russia provided Armenia with a state export credit of $ 200 million to finance Russian arms supplies.
Earlier, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan expressed hope for the continuation of the program of lending for purchases of Russian weapons.
