In Belarus a new ground drone created. In the beginning of October of this year, the finished version of the operating prototype, created by Belspetsvneshtechnika, was shown at the site of the 174th training base of the Air Force and Air Defense.
The robotic system presented by the Belarusian gunsmiths was named “Berserk”. According to the developers, the machine can work both under the control of the operator and independently, following the programmed routes. The programmable option provides a 24-hour mode of action, in which the robot moves independently along the route, tracking and detecting the enemy. Under the control of the operator, the robot is able to work at a distance of up to 5 km from the control panel. “Berserk” is made on the basis of a self-propelled remote-controlled tracked mini-chassis, capable of moving over rough terrain at a speed of 5 km/h.
The Berserker is equipped with four surveillance devices, including two color image cameras and two thermal imagers for operation at different times of the day. Using a video surveillance system, the robot is able to identify a person at a distance of 2 km, armored vehicles – 6 km, and a helicopter – from 10 km.
The drone is armed with two four-barreled aviation machine guns of 7.62-mm GSHG-7.62 caliber, created in the Tula Machine-Building Design Bureau in 1979. The claimed range of destruction is: air targets (including unmanned), moving at speeds up to 300 km / h – 5 km; enemy manpower – 1 km.
