Demonstration tests of an armored personnel carrier (BTR) “Barys” with a wheel formula 8×8 from the domestic enterprise “Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering” began in Kazakhstan.
At the moment, experts of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan conduct tests in extreme winter climatic conditions. The test program provides for shooting from standard weapons, both during the day and at night.
The armored personnel carrier is equipped with a stabilized uninhabited tower with a 30-mm automatic cannon 2A42 and a paired 7.62-mm PKT machine gun, created by the Kazakhstan plant for the production of defense electronic products “KAE” together with the Turkish company “Aselsan”.
The new armored personnel carrier, which includes advanced technological solutions, was the result of the execution of the design and development work of “Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering” LLP jointly with the South African company “Paramount Group”.
Armored car is multifunctional, mobile and meets the high requirements of ballistic and mine protection.
“Barys” 8×8 was first demonstrated during the IV International Exhibition of Arms and Military-Technical Property “KADEX”, held in June 2016 in Astana.
