On December 7, 2017, at a briefing for the Chinese military delegation, Alexander Mironov, head of the Main Directorate for Research activities and Technological Support of Advanced Technologies of the Russian Defense Ministry, announced that next year Russia will hold the “Army-2018” and “National Security Week” forums.
The forums will be held in the «Patriot» Park, at the Alabino training ground and at the Kubinka airfield from the 21st to 26th of August 2018.
According to A. Mironov, within the framework of the preparations for the holding of the forums, it is planned to increase the number of national expositions and expand the geography of foreign developers and manufacturers of military and dual-use products. The demonstration program of the forums will present the capabilities of modern models of weapons, military and special equipment of all law enforcement agencies of Russia, as well as Russian enterprises producing military and dual-use products. In addition, it is planned to expand the dynamic display of aviation equipment at the Kubinka airfield, including involving foreign aerobatic teams, and to organize a demonstration of small arms capabilities in the Patriot Park fire center.
It is expected to hold talks and meetings of representatives of foreign countries with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, other federal executive bodies of the Russian Federation and representatives of the Russian defense industry complex during the forums. Official invitations to participate in the forums are planned to be sent to more than 130 defense departments of foreign countries.
