Today in Astana the annual International Forum “Space Days in Kazakhstan: the 25th anniversary of Kazkosmos” begin its work.
This year the International Forum “Space Days in Kazakhstan” is held for the first time within the framework of the V International Exhibition of Armament and Military-Technical Property “KADEX-2018”, organized by the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The forum will last two days: on 23 and 24 May 2018.
The purpose of the event is the exchange of world experience in using the results of space activities to solve the problems of the economic sectors, as well as popularizing the achievements of the domestic space sector.
The Forum has proved itself in the domestic and international communities as an effective platform for discussing the most important issues of space activities; it has become already traditional and since 2013 is held annually.
More than 500 representatives of space agencies and state bodies, cosmonauts, famous scientists, specialists of leading world companies in the field of space technologies take part in this event. Represented more than 20 countries: the Russian Federation, France, UK, Germany, Israel, India, Belarus, Italy, Spain, Canada, China, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, USA, Japan, Switzerland and others.
The leadership of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, domestic and foreign cosmonauts, strategic partners of the MDAI (Roskosmos, Airbus Defense and Space, etc.), domestic and foreign space organizations (FSUE “State Space Research Center named after M. V. Khrunichev”, JSC “ISS Reshetnev”, Leica Geosystems, Antrix Corporation Limited, SEREME, THALES ALENIA SPACE, etc.) and many others also participates in the forum.

Within the framework of the event, a ceremony of stamping a postage stamp dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the creation of Kazkosmos with a special postmark on the envelope of the first day with the emblem “KADEX – 2018” was held.
In addition, on the same day, a space survey of the territory of the KADEX-2018 Exhibition was conducted by Kazakhstan’s remote sensing satellite KazEOSat-1.
The plenary session of the Forum was opened by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, who noted the importance of using space technologies in enhancing the efficiency of various sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy.
The Minister of defense and aerospace industry of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov and Hero of Kazakhstan, Hero of Russia, the pilot-cosmonaut, the deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Musabaev also made welcoming speeches.
Within the framework of the plenary session of the Forum, Vice Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Nurguzhin delivered a report on the development of space activities of Kazakhstan. Also speeches made by representatives of the management of Airbus Defense and Space (France), State Corporation Roskosmos (Russia), the Space Agency of the United Arab Emirates, the State Space Agency of Ukraine, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, THALES ALENIA SPACE (Italy), JSC “ISS Reshetnev”(Russia) and many others were heard .
The first day of the Forum ended with the awarding cosmonauts of Kazakhstan, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as foreign strategic partners with medals “For Contribution to the Development of Space Activities”.
Tomorrow the work of the International Forum will continue in the framework of 4 sections devoted to such thematic areas as:
Remote sensing of the Earth and navigation;
Communication and telecommunications;
Production of space technology;
Starting services.

It should be noted that within the framework of the events it is planned to hold various master classes, presentations with representatives of leading companies in the field of space activities.
Summing up, signing the Forum Resolution and a number of official documents with partners, as well as the official closing of the International Forum will also be held on May 24, 2018.
