Kazakhstan and Belarus discussed cooperation in the defense-industrial and aerospace spheres.

The Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Beibut Atamkulov, held a meeting with the Chairman of the State MilitaryIndustrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Dvigalev.

During the talks, the parties discussed the directions of military-technical cooperation, issues of joint space activities and information security.

The Kazakh delegation noted the high level of development of enterprises and the powerful human resources of the defense-industrial complex and the space sector of Belarus. Earlier, a working group of specialists from the MDAI of the RK visited the republic by the invitation of Belarusian colleagues, where they got acquainted with the products of the defense-industrial complex and inspected the production capacities of the enterprises.

At the end of the meeting, the Kazakhstan’s side invited the representatives of Belarus to take part in the V International Exhibition of Armaments and Military-Technical Property “KADEX-2018”, which will be held in Astana in May 2018.

As previously reported, within the framework of the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus, an agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on the production and scientific and technical cooperation of organizations of defense industries. In the presence of heads of state, the document was sealed by signatures of the Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan and the chairman of the State Military-Industrial Committee of Belarus.
