Russian military agency will adopt a shock modernized drones “Forpost-M”, the tests of which will be completed in the near future, Izvestia reports.
In the Ministry of defense told to the newspaper that modernized UAV – fully autonomy platform, on which were posted modern radar, optic systems and guided bombs. Thanks to its equipment drone is capable to identify and destroy land targets in any time of day and in any kind of weather.
In particular, freeform inertial navigation system (FINS) of domestic design allows to apparatus to do flights without use of GLONASS system or GPS, which gives to it prospective in areas, saturated by systems of air defense and electronic bomb of enemy.
According to newspaper, the first models of UAV of this type were «broke up» in Syria. Testing showed that UAV successfully discover artillery systems, masked armor equipment and command posts of enemy. Drone has opportunity to immediately destroy identified objects.
Radius of action of «Forpost-M» – till 250 km from the location of operator. Its speed – more than 200 km per hour, time of being in the air – 17 hours. Weight of apparatus – more than 450 kg. Maximal high of flight – about 5 thousand meters.
As experts note, drones allow to command to solve a lot of tactical tasks, without jeopardizing lifes of its servicemen.
