According to Delfi.lv on November 1, 2017, the Lithuanian army and the Norwegian company Kongsberg signed an agreement on the purchase of Norwegian mobile medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems NASAMS. BNS represents the five largest purchases of the Lithuanian army after the occupation of Crimea by Russia in 2014, which are presented in order from the largest to the smaller.

Russia, after the free transfer of six MiG-29 fighters to Serbia, can also provide the Republic with two AN-26 transport aircraft.

The transfer of two aircrafts can take place within the next ten months.
