V International exhibition of armament and military-technical property «KADEX-2018» was completed in Astana

Jubilee V International exhibition of armament and military technical equipment «KADEX – 2018», took place in the year of the 20th anniversary of Astana from May 23 to May 26, 2018 in the military sector of the International Airport.

The exhibition was attended by 48 official delegations from Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Israel, Italy, Mongolia and other countries, 108 leaders of leading foreign defense companies, in the field of space activities and cybersecurity.

As exhibitors at the Exhibition, 318 companies from 28 countries of the world presented their products: Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Germany, Israel, India, Spain, Italy, China, the Netherlands, Russia, USA, Serbia, etc.

The exhibition presents weapons and military equipment, military and dual-use products from leading world manufacturers, samples of space technology and technology, and developments in the field of information security. The exhibition was attended by domestic and foreign enterprises of the defense industry and space industry, leading design bureaus and research institutes in the field of information security.

Visitors to «KADEX-2018» got acquainted with the latest achievements and promising scientific developments of defense industry enterprises and space activities; 124 units of land equipment and 18 types of aircraft and drones were exhibited at the open demonstration site; 3 national pavilions of Turkey, China and Russia, pavilions of Kazakhstan’s enterprises of JSC «NC «Kazakhstan Engineering», LLP «Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering», JSC «Kaztechnologies», in addition, for the first time the pavilion dedicated to the space industry, which shows the advanced development patterns in space.

Within the framework of the exhibition the International Conference in the field of military-technical cooperation was held – the scientific and practical conference «Advanced DefTech».

The conference was attended by representatives of defense industry companies, research institutes and design organizations from Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Turkey, Belarus and other countries. They discussed topical issues of effective development of the military-technical cooperation, strategies and mechanisms for modernizing the defense-industrial sphere, introducing the latest technologies.

At the conference, the largest manufacturers of the defense industry presented projects on the modernization of armored vehicles and rocket launchers, modern developments in the production of armored wheeled vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles. As a result of this event, a final resolution was signed on the main areas of cooperation between the countries of the region in the military-technical sphere.

In addition, a conference on information security «CYBERANDDIGITALSECURITY» was held on the fields «KADEX – 2018», dedicated to the protection of information and communication technologies as well as critically important objects of information and communication infrastructure.

The conference was opened by Deputy Prime Minister Askar Zhumagaliyev and Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry Beibut Atamkulov.

Representatives of national regulators of Japan, China, Malaysia, Jordan, Pakistan, Belarus made presentations at the conference.

Representatives of 28 organizations from 14 countries of the world (Kazakhstan, Russia, Jordan, China, USA, Belarus, Malaysia, France, Pakistan, Japan, Israel, Turkey, Belgium, Mongolia) participated in the conference.

514 representatives of central state bodies, higher educational institutions, organizations of the quasi-public sector, foreign and domestic companies participated in this event.

Within the framework of the exhibition «KADEX-2018» the International Forum «Space Days in Kazakhstan: the 25th anniversary of Kazkosmos» was held for the first time, in which more than 500 representatives of space agencies and state bodies, cosmonauts, famous scientists, specialists of leading world companies in the field of space technologies . Presented more than 20 countries.

During the «KADEX-2018» a meeting was held between the Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. Atamkulov with the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Turkey Yunus Karaosmanoglu and the head of the Turkish Defense Industry Committee Ismail Demir. At the talks, the sides discussed issues of current bilateral military-technical cooperation and the implementation of promising projects.

Also on the «KADEX-2018» fields was a meeting with the director of the Defense Export Agency (SIBAT) of the Ministry of Defense of Israel, Michel Ben-Baruch, where the parties discussed cooperation in the defense sphere.

At the talks with the President of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency «JAXA» Hiroshi Yamakawa discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of space activities.

Meetings were held with the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus Vitaly Vovk and the Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Dvigalev, the Minister of Defense of Greece Kamenos Panayetis, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Spain Augustine CondeBachen, the Director General of the Royal Geographical Center, Brigadier General Aouni Khasauna, the Minister of Defense Guinea Mohamed Diane, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Sultan of Oman Shamis Al-Khabsi.

At the talks, issues of establishing and developing bilateral military-technical cooperation, cooperation in the field of space activities and information security were discussed.

During the visit to the pavilions, negotiations were also held with the management of the largest defense enterprises of Russia («Almaz-Antei» Concern, «United Aircraft Corporation», «Uralvazozavod»), Belarus («558 aircraft repair plant», OJSC «Control Systems-Agat»), Italy (holding «LEONARDO»), Turkey («MILSOFT», «STM», «OTOKAR»).

At the exhibition, 10 pavilions were installed, among them national pavilions of Turkey, China and Russia, pavilions of Kazakhstan’s enterprises of JSC «NC «Kazakhstan Engineering», LLP «Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering», JSC «Kaztechnologies», besides, for the first time a pavilion dedicated to the space industry, where the samples of advanced developments in the field of cosmonautics are presented.

The Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Turkey presented their national pavilions at the exhibition «KADEX-2018» with developments in the field of defense industry, aerospace and cybersecurity.

The area of the Russian pavilion at the exhibition is 2224 sq. m, there are 58 companies represented in it. The novelties were presented by Holding «Helicopters of Russia» of the State Corporation «Rosteс», «Rosoboronexport», JSC «Research and production association «High-Precision Complexes», United Aircraft Corporation, Joint-Stock Company «Information Satellite Systems» named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev», JSC «State Space Research and Production Center» named after M.V. Khrunichev» and others.

«Velikiyi Pohod» company, Chinese corporation CATIC specializes in the production of military and civil aircraft, airborne weapons and ground equipment, the Chinese northern industrial corporation «NORINCO». Also in the Chinese pavilion there are enterprises in the field of defense electronics and cybersecurity.

A total of about 100 memorandums, contracts, agreements and protocols worth over KZT 300 billion were signed at the end of the Exhibition, aimed at developing and strengthening military-technical cooperation, the country’s defense industry complex, in the field of space activities and cybersecurity.
